Style can be sentimental.
I remember when I first moved to Sydney - I was 19 and I didn’t have very much. I wasn’t really doing great at modelling (all a confidence issue) and though I was totally obsessed with fashion, I didn’t have anything cool to wear to castings - anything that made me feel confident. When I got my first pay check from my agency, I vowed to go and stock up on cool pieces I found on the high street - and this was around the first time I was exposed to French Connection. I remember I bought a blue linen dress and wore the damn thing all summer. It became like my armour. It had just enough personality to feel like ‘me’ but was simple enough to feel versatile and timeless.
It’s a trait that I love about French Connection still today. A brand that’s classic but still has spirit. I’ve chosen some of my favourite tran-seasonal pieces to share with you in this little NYC editorial. A good puffer that can be dressed up or down right now! It’s a new wardrobe essential.
