A little over a year ago, we set foot on this inspirational path to help the aspiring self-made ascend to success. We know from experience how easy it is to forget to stop and smell the roses…to step back every once and a while and look at life from a bird’s eye view among the mania… It’s hard to when there’s a massive innate pressure to accomplish the biggest things and make long strides. However, don’t forget that it’s the small things that matter most when it comes to building a life you’re proud of. So in case you forgot,
here are the smallest actions you can start taking right now to create a kick-ass life for yourself.
#1 You will always see things as you are and it’s your choice to make.
People will always find reasons to validate their actions and facts to support their beliefs. That tells you that the world is yours to see. You can live a million different lives based on the perspective compass you choose to take. A person with a positive attitude will see set backs and obstacles as learning opportunities whereas a negative thinker will victimize themselves. Stop for a minute and think about how you’re viewing this world - whatever and however you see it is your choice.
#2 What you think, you become. What you say, you eventually do.
What are you thinking about life today? And if those thoughts were outspoken, what would that say about you? The more you tell yourself something, the more you’re likely to follow through with it. “I can’t” means you will eventually stop and “I will” means you’ll eventually do.
#3 Plans are nothing; planning is everything. Motion doesn’t equal action.
As Benjamin Franklin said, “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.” Having goals don’t mean much if there’s no action to be taken. Planning maps out a route for you to bring a vision to life. At some point, you’ll need to act on it, but don’t confuse busy work with productivity - become less busy and hewn the unessential.
#4 Allow people to treat you the way YOU WANT to be treated.
Nice guys finish last… Nope. Raise the bar, set some expectations and some boundaries, don’t be afraid to say NO, and hold people accountable. What you allow is what will continue.
So start now - pick a perspective for your world, say and think what you want to become, plan and then reduce, and show people what you’re worth.
