Before the Zanita x Tictail event the Zanita Studio team had the pleasure of running into Mattias Swenson, co-founder of Bloglovin’, and yes, I had a bit of an entrepreneurial fan girl moment but instead of asking a ton of questions, I asked none and just listened.
Mind you, the atmosphere was very dark and very loud so I didn’t quite hear everything Mattias said, but I heard enough to be inspired to write an entire article about it.
He spoke about when he was applying for a certain role, he and one other person wore a suit. The competition was stiff and there were a ton of applicants hungry for the same opportunity and guess who were the only two to make it? The two in suits.
Success Tip #1: Dress for the job you want
I’m sure you’ve heard it before, but dressing the part really does affect your success. It symbolizes your commitment and willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job of your dreams, even if it means dressing like the CEO when you’re the receptionist. No job is below you, but that doesn’t mean you can’t dress like it is.
Success Tip #2: Let your outfit speak for you
What does your outfit look like when you’re sick? Hopefully it’s not the same as when you go on a date. When you don’t feel too good about yourself, you usually don’t look too good and vice versa. People will form their opinions about you regardless of what you’re wearing, but you increase your chances for a positive outcome when you’re exuding confidence because you’ve dressed for success.
Success Tip #3: Wear what you’re comfortable in
I am all about trying new trends, but if you’re trying to set yourself up for success at that business meeting, wear something that puts you in your comfort zone. Now is not the time to try those Stuart Weitzman boots and colorful fur coat. Stay true to yourself like the badass boss babe that you are.
