Oh Milan!
The city has some sort of bad rap - which I can relate to. It’s easy to get lost in the tourist traps and find yourself losing the romance. I always get that with Paris because I don’t have a load of French friends… come to think of it, I don’t have a huge posse of Italian friends either! It’s just easy to get good advice from locals in Milan if you just pluck up and ask. There’s so many hidden spaces and incredible restaurants to visit. I could never move to Milan because I’d gain so much weight.
So Italian style? Frankly I’d like to sing about it till the cows come home - and in my mind - some of the MOST stylish beauties reside in Italy. I was so impressed by the fearless dress sense of the girls I saw at the shows in Milan that I’m actually going to write another post shortly about that. Seriously those girls rock so hard - and it’s not hard to see why, viewing the collections of MFW. This was a look I wore to the Ermanno Scervino show, which was an exercise in elegance and something I’m keen to take lessons in. Look at me all tressed up in a blazer and lace! Who is this elegant lass?!
I guess it’s just progress, the harder and further I get into my business, as I take myself and what I do with greater seriousness, it’s only natural to err towards dressing like a LADY BOSS. They say you should dress for the role you’d like to have…. Give me another year or two - these posts will be an exercise in power dressing!!
I joke.
But still, a change is as good as a holiday and it does feel pretty good to dress like a elegant lady - or like an Italian. I definitely don’t want to be missing Milan Fashion Week next season - and I’d got as far to say I’d take it over Paris any day of the week. Fashion and delicious Italian food?! What more could you want?
Stay tuned for my imagery of the gorgeous Ermano Scervino show!
