It’s called the city of love for a reason. The energy of Paris is unlike any other city in the world. It’s full of beauty, mystery and elegance, It is literally the most loveable city I’ve ever been to.
Not doing Paris like a tourist is key to really getting into the heart of it. If you love galleries and museums then you couldn’t ask for anything better The Louvre, Galeries Nationales du Grand Palais and The Centre Pompidou but if that isn’t want gets you going (like moi) and what floats your boat is eating amazing food, drinking freakin mind-boggling wine and just living in the city, I have the places you need to go. For me, eating is something that I really, really love to do. Kind of to the point where I plan my day around my meals. It’s pretty much the highlight of my day… well to a degree. But when visiting a new place, trying new things is something high on my to do list. Walking around and just finding things as you wonder is also very romantic, it’s about not having a plan and being open to experiencing new things - just sort of going with the wind, ya know?
So here is where to stay, what to do and where to eat!
Stay
Hotel Therese – The hotel with the most perfect location. Located in the right bank on a quiet street in the 1st Arrondissement, Hotel Therese is a hidden designer gem. Only a ten minute walk to the Louve and Jardin des Tuileries as well as being situated heavenly close to awesome coffee shops for your daily caffeine hit (or sweet treat, that you may spend the next few months dreaming about). The Hotel is absolutely beautiful, filled with designer art and furniture, this chic hotel is a place for the stylish.

Where to Eat
HolyBelly – If you want a good coffee and some good breakfast then this is the place. Owners Nico Alary and Sarah Mouchot have set up a funky place that does not disappoint! Their café is something you would find in Melbourne – So visiting from Australia, this was a breath of familiar fresh vegemite smelling air! Pancakes, muesli and coffee was enjoyed after a morning run!
Kunitoraya – A Japanese restaurant that is truly tasty – I know what you are thinking: “Japanese in Paris?”, yes - that’s right. Guess what. We did it and it was really udon lickin’ good! Bowls of delicious noodle soup and tasty tempura.
Bistrot Blanc Bec – Super cute and stylish décor. The food is simple, fresh and beautiful! If you want some French food and good wine then head there for a really nice night.
Pierre Sang - Dinner with a twist – Asian-influenced - This is a genius idea – We had so much fun here - Make sure you do the surprise tasting menu - Best idea EVER!
Coffee
Honor – Super Sleek outdoor coffee shop, which makes a pretty good brew .
Fondation Cafe – Owned by a fellow Aussie, Chris knows a thing or two about a good cup of coffee. Grab a table on the street, order your favourite coffee and get some lemon cake and just take it all in!
Télescope – Just around the corner from Hotel Therese, this coffee spot is super cute, makes a good coffee and tasty cooked goods (had to order more).
Ten Belles – This place was packed every time we visited, be sure to get there early if you want a table, or leave it to luck which is sort of romantic.
Steel Coffeeshop & Cyclewear - Make an awesome iced coffee for those summer days!
What to do
Arc de Triomphe – This is a must do. You will fall in love with Paris once climbing 284 steps, the view is to die for. A 360 degree view of the most beautiful city. Do not miss this!
Jardin des Tuileries – Located next to the Louver is a stunning place to walk early in the morning. Grab a Coffee and Croissant and wonder through the park.
Jardin du Luxembourg – This garden is beautiful as you walk through, grab a banana and Nutella crepe and watch the little model boats on the pond. A really nice way to spend an afternoon with your lover or even with a book.
Marché Bastille – Farmers market held on Thursday and Sunday. Be sure to head there for some fresh flowers, a juice and to take in all that good old French produce.
