Of course the factor I’m about to mention is - the model. A great model can take a shoot from being average to amazing - and the most amazing models are not really that easy to get a hold of - unless you’re already well established and known as a photographer. Once you’re big enough to get the best stylists, make-up artists, models and the most incredible locations - you’re on the path to being very successful!
I’ve had the fortunate pleasure in my career of working both in front and behind the lens. I know models and modelling well - and the value of a ‘model muse’. I’ve been lucky to shoot a few girls in my career who I’d deem ‘Model Muses’ - those being Laura Gorun, Bambi Northwood-Blyth, Anya Konstantinova and Rachel Grasso…. Now - I can add Jessica Hart to the list. Who is by the way… A supermodel!!! When I found out I was going to get the chance to shoot her I did have a quiet little freak out. How on earth was I going to capitalise on this great opportunity!? I had one hour to shoot Jess, her own clothes, streetstyle. The location, George st in Sydney - one of the busiest places in town! So I hired an enormous and very expensive lens, planned the light and got to snapping. I’m so happy with the result! I feel I’ve reached an awesome milestone - shoot a supermodel. So grateful to Portmans who arranged for me to have this time to shoot Jess - who by the way is the absolute sweetest person and total bombshell in the flesh. Jess is in town as part of her role as Portmans new ‘Girl on Top’. So deserving!
